OSAWATOMIE — Always wanted to help fund a war, but find taxes too impersonal? Why not contribute to Kickstarter!
It’s the tongue-in-cheek approach to bankrolling World War III envisioned in a recent video created by the funny men (and women) at the Second City Network.
Featuring normal, everyday Obama supporters like Steve, the graphic designer, Lisa, the college freshman, and Tom, the social policy scholar and barista, the comedy sketch pokes fun at the blind devotion the president has earned from some of his most dedicated political followers.
But act now! Sponsored by “The Americans for Whatever Barack Obama Wants, did you know he’s friends with Jay-Z,” the faux Kickstarter campaign offers a variety of funding levels to help reach the $1.6 trillion goal needed to launch a global military offensive. It may sound pricey, but paying for organic, grass-fed bombs, iPad-controlled rockets and hybrid Prius tanks is anything but cheap!
Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect based on your level of contribution:
- $10 – A social media shoutout. #thankyou!
- $25 – A piece of rubble from a war-torn Middle Eastern country kissed by Sen. Lindsey Graham.
- $100 – A day pass to leave your local refuge camp.
- $10 million – You’ll receive your very own senator for a year!
