Video: Protesters interrupt speech by NM Gov. Martinez

SANTA FE — As Republican Gov. Susana Martinez began to address a joint session of the New Mexico legislature on Tuesday (Jan. 17), as soon as she opened her mouth, a handful of protesters started shouting from the gallery.

“Mic check!” they shouted in unison, echoing a phrase used in the Occupy movement and then started saying, “no justice, no peace” and complaining about out of state corporations.

Security removed them within about 45 seconds.
