Evidently the federal government has fond memories of Kentucky‘s 7th Congressional District. According to recovery.gov, the district received more than $31 million from the stimulus package, despite being eliminated in the 1990 census.

Some federal funds were provided to districts that did not exist. District 30 in the state, which only has 6 congressman, received several hundred thousands dollars in aid from the legislation.

A Watchdog study revealed 440 non-existent congressional districts within the stimulus tracking web site, recovery.org. The full report can be found here and below:
