AUSTIN — No one will confuse Texas for Wisconsin.
Texas is a right-to-work state, which dramatically limits the power of public-employee unions. Texas has been leading the nation’s job growth and Wisconsin wants to join the group.
Despite all the good in Texas’ economy, no one should think the effort to reduce the size, scope and cost of government in Texas has been won.
It’s ironic that on the morning after Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker crushed the union-backed move to recall him the Dallas Morning News reported that Jennifer Sprague, the new Dallas ISD chief of communications, will be paid $185,000 a year.
