ALEXANDRIA — President Teresa Sullivan and University of Virginia trustees have “mutually agreed” to her resignation after just two years, according to a statement posted Sunday on the school’s website.
Sullivan, the university’s first female president, cited a “philosophical difference of opinion” with the board as the reason for her departure. She officially drops the title Aug. 15.
Watchdog.org Virginia Bureau has filed a Virginia Freedom of Information Act request for Sullivan’s severance package, initial employment contract, recent expenses and recent communication with the visiting board. UVA has until Monday to respond to the request.
