On Monday we reported that Suzanne Kosmas [D, FL-24] spent the most on travel meals, however that amount from the House Statement of Disbursements was in error.
Marc Goldberg, Communications Director for Congresswoman Suzanne Kosmas, explained:
“The dollar figure in the statement of disbursements for Congresswoman Kosmas’ travel meals is inaccurate. It includes duplicated travel costs that were also mistakenly filed as meal costs by CAO Office of Finance, resulting in more than $2,300 in erroneous charges. The error was caught and corrected by CAO, but the credit will not appear until the fourth quarter statement of disbursements.”
Jeff Ventura from the Office of the Chief Administrative Office of the House confirmed the problem:
“The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer’s Financial Counseling Office did make an error with regard to Congresswoman Kosmas’ expenses. We concur with the nature of the error as they have identified it.”
