BOSTON – Standing outside a Sunoco gas station in Dorchester, Mass., with wet snow falling from his beard, Dan Wylie-Sears, 40, campaigns for Democratic candidate Martha Coakley. Wylie-Sears was listening to a book on tape as he stood on the corner for more than an hour as cars drove by, some honking.
“We need to keep the seat Democratic,” he said, when asked why he was standing in freezing temperatures. “I know the Republicans will filibuster.” He said he’s a supporter of the party, not necessarily the candidate.
One person has stopped and asked if he thought the race was really as close as the media has portrayed it.
