COLUMBUS — Republican U.S. Senate candidate Josh Mandel has booked more than $4 million in airtime over the past month of the campaign, Politico reported Monday.
The report cited multiple strategists saying that Mandel had bought about $4.2 million in airtime so far.
Mandel’s race against Democratic U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown is proving competitive and expensive. Outside groups have poured close to $10 million into the race so far, heavily favoring Mandel, while Brown has major resources of his own.
Brown has raised more than $10 million since 2007, and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee recently bought some $5.1 million in airtime for him.
