NM: Dems select Ivey-Soto to replace Eichenberg in state Senate race

SANTA FE — The Bernalillo County Democratic Party Central Committee on Saturday selected Daniel Ivey-Soto to replace outgoing state Sen. Tim Eichenberg, D-Albuquerque, who last month announced he’s resigning after one term in District 15.

Ivey-Soto edged out Vanessa Alarid by 14 to 13 votes and will now be the Democratic Party nominee in this fall’s general election in New Mexico against former state Sen. H. Diane Snyder, the district’s Republican nominee.
