Charter schools celebrate 23 years in Colorado

Colorado charter schools celebrated 23 years of offering educational options with a rally last week that drew more than 600 participants.

The charter sector is already strong in Colorado, with more than 220 schools open, and 10-15 new charters opening every year. Around 12 percent of Colorado’s students (more than 103,000) attend a charter and, if charter schools were their own district, it would be the largest in Colorado.
