Judge dismisses suit against Maine governor in charter-school hiring case

A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit alleging that Maine Republican Gov. Paul LePage used blackmail — in the form of state spending cuts — to force a charter school operator to rescind a job offer to Democratic state House Speaker Mark Eves, who filed the suit. Eves says he will appeal.
