SANTA FE — After months of rumors, New Mexico Attorney General Gary King confirmed Tuesday that he will challenge Republican Gov. Susana Martinezin the 2014 gubernatorial election.
King, a Democrat, had served for 12 years in the state House and his father, the late Bruce King, was elected as governor for three, nonconsecutive terms.
King is completing his second term as attorney general.
