ALEXANDRIA — Delegate David Englin, D-Alexandria, announced Monday that he will not seek re-election for a fifth term following reports of an affair, according to The Huffington Post.

Instead of seeking a new term in 2013, Englin said in a statement that he and his wife have separated and he plans to work on “rebuilding what is and always was most important to me: my marriage and my family.”

Englin, an Air Force veteran, served on numerous committees since being elected to the General Assembly in 2005, including Finance; Health, Welfare and Institutions; and Agriculture, Chesapeake and Natural Resources.
