Technical Notes
- Download Kansas Congressional Shapefile from the Kansas Redistricting 2012 site by Kansas Legislative Research Department.
- Convert the shapefile to a Keyhole Markup Language (KML) file, Kansas-Congress-2012.kml. (One way to convert the shapefile to KML is by using the free QGIS software package.)
- Create new Google Map and import the Kansas-Congress-2012.kml file.
- Using the candidate list from the Kansas Secretary of State, add the congressional candidates and related information to the map.
