Video Special: Hassebrook Backs Kerrey, Won’t Hold ‘Grudge’

By   /   March 8, 2012  /   8 Comments

Chuck Hassebrook made it official today, he’s backing fellow Democrat Bob Kerrey.

As Nebraska Watchdog first reported late Wednesday, Hassebrook has dropped out of the Senate race.

According to Hassebrook no promises were made to him; he thinks Kerrey’s the best candidate.

Hassebrook, who was initially upset that Kerrey changed his mind and got in the race, now tells Nebraska Watchdog that he’s “moved on” and won’t hold a grudge.

Blah, blah, blah . . . what in the world is wrong is with Good Old Chuck!! Perhaps the Democratic Party has a hammer they are using on him! OR maybe big promises were made to persuade him to “do the right thing” for the preservation of the seat in Nebraska . . . an offer he just couldn’t refuse, as it were!!!

Boy, both of them sure looked uncomfortable at that news conference . . . can wait until SOMEONE breaks the news about “the rest of the story!” Wouldn’t Paul Harvey have had a ball with this one!

Kind of reminds of the time JON BRUNING STEPPED ASIDE TO CLEAR THE WAY FOR MIKEY JOHANNS to run for Senate.

    How quickly the right forget….

  • An NU Regent not holding a grudge…

    I really rather doubt that.

Surely a fair number of Nebraskans feel that Chuck Hassebrook was offered something to drop out.

We shall see, won’t we, when Kerrey selects him to be his Nebraska Chief of Staff.

Who said the Right forgot anything? And what does that have to do with the Democratic Party convincing Chuck to step aside and let Bob have a go at it? Maybe, just maybe, the Dems promised to back Chuck for Gov?

  • Biff

The right always forgets (conveniently) when they’ve already trod the path they accuse the left of following. This is but another example.

Wasn’t it Bob Kerrey who stated that Bill Clinton was a good liar? Looks like Bob is the liar now, but not such a good one.

Kerrey lost my vote when he not only flat out denied that he went back on his word to Hassebrook, but went on to say that it was important for Hassebrook to get over it. I don’t think so.

Funny how Bob DENIED that he broke his word, but wouldn’t even attempt to describe what he did. Also funny when Joe asked Chuck/Bob/both how they’d vote with both names on the ballot – Chuck said “Bob Kerrey” with all seriousness and Bob laughed. Awkward.

He looks so small and old next to Chuck.
