It appears that talk of an Omaha curfew has run out of time.
The possibility of a curfew followed the shooting death of 19-year-old Deanthony Bryant, who was gunned down in the Old Market at 2 a.m. June 19. The shooting occurred in front of a large group of people.
City Councilman Garry Gernandt said today that he’s “curtailing all efforts to establish or amend a curfew ordinance.”
According to Gernandt there are not enough pro-curfew votes on the council.
