HONOLULU — More than 20 candidates for state office failed to file their financial disclosure forms on time, according to the Hawaii State Ethics Commission.
The financial disclosure forms, which include information on a candidate’s “sources of income, business ownership interests, debts, real property ownership interests, officer and director positions held in businesses, and other financial interests,” were supposed to be filed with the commission for public review this past Monday.
A total of 163 candidates submitted their financial disclosure statements on time, but 22 missed the deadline and will be issued a $25 fine, said Les Kondo, the commission’s executive director
