U.S. Rep. Mark Amodei

CARSON CITY — Nevada‘s congressional delegation, in a show of bipartisan support, voted for the Federal Reserve Transparency Act, which would require the Federal Reserve System’s Board of Governors and the Federal Reserve banks to be audited.

House Resolution 459, which U.S. Rep. Mark Amodei, R-District 2, co-sponsored, passed the House 327 to 98.

“The Fed’s monetary policy has far-reaching consequences for the American people, affecting everything from employment to consumer prices to interest rates,” Amodei said in a statement after the vote. “Some oversight and accountability are more than warranted.”

U.S. Reps. Shelley Berkley, D-District 1, and Joe Heck, R-District 3, also supported the legislation.
