Johanns: Poor health rumors not true

By   /   August 2, 2012  /   8 Comments

62-year-old Senator Mike Johanns is fighting off rumors that he’s not healthy.

Senator Mike Johanns

A spokesperson for Johanns tells Nebraska Watchdog that speculation on an internet blog that Johanns is suffering from “the c-word” is untrue.

“Senator Johanns absolutely does not have cancer,” says Natalie Krings. “He’s healthy.”

Tuesday the Objective Conservative wrote, ”Word continues to circulate around Lincoln that U.S. Senator Mike Johanns is sick. We’ve reported that a couple of months ago. The ‘c-word’ was mentioned to us today.”

In 2009, shortly after Johanns took office, a spot was found on his left lung. Doctors removed part of the lung and said they found no signs of cancer.

No, Johanns suffers from the other “C” word, cranio-rectal disorder.

Glad to hear he is physically healthy. It is his mental health I am concerned about. I understand being with the tea-baggers is hazardus to mental state, (and to all the citizens they are supposed to represent).

Well, Dave, there is that history of mental health issues in his family, to which his answer as Governor was to close the state mental health hospitals and let the state patients use “privatized” care. The only problem with that is that there was NO privatized care available to all those patients, so the vast majority of them after discharge wound up on the streets and are now currently part of the homeless populations that inhabit the streets, shelters and seem to have a revolving door in and out of our jails, stressing local budgets far more than they did the State’s. Of course Johanns probably never realized that the families of these patients did NOT have the resources available in the first place to provide privatized care, UNLIKE the Governor, who had 24 hour a day personal State Patrol protection that was able as a side duty to prevent his mentally disturbed son from hopping off the roof of the Governor’s mansion, if you recall that incident.

Perhaps one of you three writers would like to throw your hat into the ring the next time this Senate seat is up for election!!! I’m just saying, if you are going to continue to disparage the man, THEN you must offer an alternative that is appealing to the voters in Nebraska. Your habitual complaining while offering NO viable solutions is getting old!!!!

So here is your opportunity to make the official announcement . . . “put up or shut up” so to speak!!!!!

  • Darkness

Good to hear he’s healthy, I just wish he gave a damn about the citizens’ health.

Sooooooo tired of the Liberal Mafia. Tables will be turned very soon.

Unfortunately, Nebraskans fall for the Republican propoganda that can usually be proved to be untrue after they get what they want for their 1% and out of state contributers. Even during the better times for our country (BIPARTISAN leadership), Nebraska usually goes with the far right.

I didn’t know about the problems with his son. I appologise for the reference to mental illness. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.
I do still believe the governor is way out in Right field.
