Despite suffering a mild stroke which hospitalized him for four days and required an air-ambulance flight from Ireland to Omaha, Mayor Jim Suttle has been given a clean bill of health.

Dr. Elizabeth Denmar says the 68-year-old mayor, who had a cerebral vascular accident and checked himself into the hospital Friday, is “100 per cent recovered.”

Dr. Denmar says she’s been seeing Suttle for 12 years and he’s ready to go back to his regular schedule.

The mayor’s office says Suttle is expected to return to city hall Monday.

Nebraska Watchdog’s Joe Jordan spoke with Dr. Denmar.

Get well soon Mayor Suttle. I am betting it’s too early to tell if in fact the Mayor is 100 per cent recovered, however. He did have to fly over in a hospital plane and went straight to Methodist. Hope he does recover fully.
