HONOLULU — U.S. Rep. Mazie Hirono, D-District 2, continues to put campaigning and fundraising before votes on key measures.
She is running for the U.S. Senate seat left open by Daniel Akaka, who is retiring.
Last week, Hirono missed three votes and was present for five, according to Congress.org, a vote tracking system that issues regular reports on the nation’s political leaders.
She was absent for 18 votes in the past few weeks.
