SANTA FE — The head of New Mexico‘s troubled Finance Authority opens up to New Mexico Watchdog.
“I may be incompetent, but not a criminal,” said NMFA’s CEO Rick May, who then provided his version of the facts that led to this week’s arrest of NMFA’s chief operating officer and former controller on multiple counts of securities fraud, forgery and racketeering.
May claims credit for discovering the forged audit that has plunged the agency and New Mexico public works financing into crisis.
