Secretary of State to ‘close doors’ Monday to end candidate filing

HELENA – Secretary of State Linda McCulloch invites the public to attend the official “closing of the doors” ceremony Monday to mark the end of candidate filing for the 2012 election cycle.

Candidates, elected officials, political party representatives and Secretary of State elections staff will be in attendance.

The filings will stop at 5 p.m. at Secretary of State’s Office on the second floor of the state Capitol, 1301 E. Sixth Ave., Helena.

 McCulloch, the state’s chief election officer, plans to release official candidate filing totals by 6 p.m. interested parties can remain in the office until the final data is reported.
