New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez got her shot Thursday night on the national political stage, and the early reviews were good.
The governor seemed to touch all the political bases Republicans hoped she would hit when she made her national debut in front of millions of Americans on Thursday night at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla..
The first Hispanic female governor in the nation’s history received a plumb spot on the speakers’ roster, following former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice and preceding vice presidential pick Paul Ryan. In her 10-minute speech, she brought delegates to their feet on at least three occasions.
