WAUKESHA — Local and national journalists will join the public in questioning the Wisconsin Republican primary candidates for the U.S. Senate on Wednesday during a debate sponsored by the Wisconsin Reporter and Republican Party of Waukesha County.
“All eyes are on Wisconsin during this election cycle,” said Matt Kittle, bureau chief at Wisconsin Reporter and moderator for the debate. “We’re excited to hear from such seasoned journalists who will ask candidates the tough questions based on their professional experience and perspective.”
Candidates Jeff Fitzgerald, Eric Hovde, Mark Neumann and Kip Smith are confirmed for the debate, while former Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson was invited but declined to participate.
Kirsten Adshead, of Wisconsin Reporter, will get analysis of the race, debate and state of Wisconsin politics during the intermission from John McAdams, a political scientist at Marquette University in Milwaukee.
The debate will start at 7 p.m. and be streamed live on Wisconsin Reporter, Washington Examiner and RedState.
