A person who is the Douglas County Treasurer should know the difference between the deficit and the national debt. The deficit is about 1.3 trillion this year, the national debt is 16 trillion.

  • OmaSteak

Ewing had about a 2% chance of success when he announced for the race. Since then, extreme left-wing policy statements and ineffective fundraising has reduced that chance to 1%. If the Obama campaign doesn’t throw in a large amount of “walking around money” like they did in 2008 to get most of North O to the polls, that 1% becomes 0%. It’s too bad because Ewing was going for the ultimated taxpayer funded pension trifecta…police union pension, Douglas County pension and a Congressional pension…which was his only objective for running in the first place.

    OmaSteak:

Well, Mr/Ms Steak, you seem to know a heck of a lot about what motivates Mr. Ewing. None of us know whether you know what your talking about since yhou don’t have the courage to identify yourself, so I’ll assume that the snarky comment is from a toady for the Kock brothers.

Omaha Steak…Mr Ewing has a terrific chance of winning this election. He is honest, trust worthy and will work for the people of Omaha which is far more than one can say for Lee Terry. AKA Do nothing Terry but collect his check and benefits. Terry is almost as worthless as John Christiansen was!

  • resistwemuch

In all honesty I believe that Ewing’s assistant at the DCT office is running the office. Ewing is window simply window dressing.

  • resistwemuch

    Sorry, one “window” is enough.

    Hey Joan,
How is Lee Terry in any way a “do nothing” politician? He is THE leader in the fight for the Keystone XL pipeline and will soon be a subcommittee chair. He is a leader in the house, and a leader on the rise at that. The man has done more work with energy and communication policy than most other representatives. He has also shown great judgement and leadership with transportation policy.

Joan, you just don’t know much, kind of like John Ewing. John can not seem to produce any specific policy ideas or express any in-depth knowledge of a particular issue. Heck, John Ewing can not even pick a stance on taxes.

  • Roger

Joan you are right on the mark with one small exception it is not Do Nothing Terry it is No Leadership Lee. QBack put down the Kool Aid and provide real specifics. What exactly has No Leadership done? Go ahead and talk energy policy,,, please. Have you filled your car up lately? How is No Leadership Lee’s energy policy working for you? Name a bill that No Leadership Lee has authored that has become law? Go ahead I have all day. You refer to No Leadership as a man on the rise……. to what means? He has been in Washington for 14 years and what do we have to show for it????? Nothing more than a man that votes how he is told to vote by the Republican Leadership in Washington. QBack get off the talking points and provide specifics….. You have NONE!

  • Dave

Lee “Mr. Do Nothing” Terry has sure tried to keep a low profile for the past year or so. When he is called, “here, Lee, come here boy”, by the tea party leadership for a photo. op., he’ll stand there like a good party boy, and vote the do nothing policies. Where is that reach across the aisle he spouted?
It’s time his promised one term and then out be honored, if not by him-by us.

Oh, by the way–Omaha Steaks are not worth the money.
