Growing numbers of state workers in Florida are collecting pensions valued at over $100,000 per year

Over at the Capitol Vanguard, they explore the newly released numbers of state pensioners who receive six-figures every year.

Recently released data regarding theFlorida state pension system indicates that 905 retired state employees receive over $100,000 annually.

This marks a significant increase from the 542 retired state workers gleaning six-figure payouts in 2011. That number then grew to 763 earlier this year, averaging $118,178 annually for a total of $90,170,145, and now that number stands at 905.

Miami-Dade retirees comprise nearly a third of the new total; an additional 203 of the 905 were formerly employed through the Office of State Courts; and 91 are from the state university system. Broward andPalm Beachcounties claim the next highest number of recipients, respectively, after Miami-Dade.

Funny how everyone is woried about cutting pensions for Police and Fireman. I make about $40,000 a year doing what most people are too scared or lazy to do and The Gov. and legislature want to cut my pension. Why not go after theese fat cats instead!
