HORNER: Dropped out of state House race after name surfaced in prostitution and racketeering investigation
It seems that two-term state Rep. Mike Horner, R-Kissimmee, won’t be able to return to the Legislature next March.
Horner was forced to withdraw from the state House race in District 46 after his name surfaced in an ongoing investigation of prostitution and racketeering, supposedly housed in a brothel in east Orange County.
He was heavily favored to win his re-election bid, but now it seems that his opponent, Democrat Eileen Game, a business owner from Frostproof, will cruise to victory in November.
“I deeply regret decisions I made that are causing my family unjustifiable pain and embarrassment,” Horner wrote in a statement. “My family still deserves better from me, as do all my friends, supporters and constituents.”
