Want to meet your Portland City Council and Mayoral candidates without all the canned speeches and begging for money?
You can this Sunday at the Mattress Lot in Northeast Portland (2406 NE Sandy Boulevard), according to the Laurelhurst Neighborhood Association. Candidates for mayor Jefferson Smith and Charlie Hales are expected to attend as well as council incumbent Amanda Fritz and her challenger Mary Nolan.
All the candidates are expected to show up for the casual conversation between candidates and voters from noon-5 p.m.
The mayor’s seat is being vacated by Sam Adams, who is not running for re-election. And whoever gets elected will have some serious budget issues to attend to. Oregon Public Broadcasting reported Thursday that the city spent $360 million more than it raised in revenue last year.
Curious about their plans for Portland? Come on down to the local business where mattresses are delivered by bike.
