TX: Rift at cancer center widens as scientists defect

ABUSE: Seven advisers resigned from the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas because of how grants are doled out.

If there are people involved, it’s going to get political. And if it’s government-run, ah, see the first point times 100.

The Associated Press reported that seven advisers resigned last week from the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas, claiming “suspicion of favoritism” in doling out grants and warning that the program is becoming subject to abuse.
