Kerrey has been desperately looking for a job ever since the board of regents at NYU ousted him . If he can’t run a small college, how can he run a country? Harry Reid wants to retire and wants another venomous mouth to replace him. Harry just donated another 1/2 million to Kerrey’s campaign. As soon as the election is over he’ll be heading back to NY. Supposed to have bought a house in Omaha, but not listed on the Douglas County Assessors site.

The only thing I can think of that Kerrey has done as senator was to be the deciding vote for the largest tax increase in American history and limiting retirees social security to 1.7% cost of living increase while complaining that a 3.9% increase for welfare recipients was not enough for them.

Hagel & Kerrey are both from the same cloth. They are Internationalists who are One World Government guys that believe everything emminates from the United Nations. Both are Anti Christian, Anti Jewish and anti 2nd Amendment!

Hagel was a competent legislator who became disaffected by the rigidly uncompromising nature of the GOP in the last decade. You Republicans keep RINOing out those who don’t meet your exacting standards, and all you’re going to be left with is a bunch of Teapublicans and corporate appeasers (like Deb Fischer) and NO ONE can stand any of them after only two years of them mucking up our federal government. Keep this up, and the Grand Old Party will cease to exist! I don’t think Eisenhower, Reagan or Ford would even recognize or claim allegiance to what Norquist, Rove. Koch Brothers, et al have made out of a once proud party which is now nothing but obstructionist and socially irresponsible! Add to this that Romney will go down in history as the most devious, pandering and dishonest of presidential candidates ever. Plus, Deb Fischer doesn’t have the experience, talent or character to serve as our U.S. senator. I realize Bob Kerrey has an uphill battle in this state, but I, along with many other Democrats, Independents and cross-over Republicans hope that he is successful because we don’t need the embarrassment of having incompetent, do-nothing senators as we did during the Carl Curtis and Roman Hruska years!

To all of you who are against Mr. Kerrey, and like to call him names, how many of you have served our country and won the Congressional Medal of Honor, been the governor of Nebraska, served as our senator representative from Nebraska, and have started successful businesses in Nebraska. If you can’t answer yes to each of these accomplishments, then maybe you owe Mr. Kerrey an apology for your derogatory statements.

Davy Crockett (not to mention the founders before him) also didn’t have the so called “experience” yet to this day is considered one of the best congressman the nation ever had. If you demand experience then how the H-e double hockey sticks did Obama get in office?

Whether one served in our military or not is not the ONLY qualification for someone to be elected to represent us in Washington. Does that mean that if ONLY military members represented us in Washington, we wouldn’t be dealing the scandal we now have because of the killings in Benghazi? Perhaps we should be considering their character, their moral background, their honesty, and a whole host of other qualifications that shape the total package we should look at!!!

Do you respect those who “ordered our military members to STAND DOWN” in Benghazi?? Just who in the world do you think made that decision? Was it the President/Commander in Chief upon the advice of the Vice President, was it the Secy of the Defense, or maybe the Secy of State or was it one of our military commanders in the field? These are all LEADERS of our country, some of whom have military background! WHO told whom to Stand Down and let four of American citizens fend for themselves before they were ultimately killed. . . . and then LEFT them there to be picked up later like they were yesterday’s garbage?? We should care about this issue, and demand that our leaders answer all the questions before the election. Who made the call and why is important!

So if you think that having served our country is the best and only reason to elect someone, perhaps we need need to broaden expectations and our scope of qualifications!!!

If this election goes as the GOP hopes, as i live in south Lincoln, I will be represented in the US Senate by an Iowan (Johanns), in the House by a guy from Louisiana (Fortenberry) and in the Legislature by a Missourian (Zimmerman). We band together to support our schools, to build roads and libraries, airports and electrical supply grids, to support each other in time of disaster. And Fischer is on the side of Mourdock from Indiana regarding abortion. She is the wrong person to be a senator. Fischer does not have the same values of live and let live as most Nebraskans have.

He was the president of the New School, which is a private, liberal arts college in Greenwich Village, affiliated with NYU only by the fact that they are both in Manhattan. You say, “he can’t run a small college.” Hmm, these numbers beg to differ: When he took the job in 2001, the school’s endowment was $96 million. When he left it was $201 million. I’d say doubling a school’s/business’ bottom line, any way you slice it, means you were successful. Also, the man was served our great state from 1983 to 2001, as an elected official.
