SANTA FE — It’s official. A meeting of the State Canvassing Board on confirmed there will be recounts in two Roundhouse races, both involving elections in the state House of Representatives.
The House District 23 race in the Rio Rancho and Corrales area between Republican Paul Pacheco and Democrat Marci Blaze qualified for a state-required automatic recount with Pacheco leading Blaze by 66 votes — within the one-half of 1 percent margin of total votes cast in the race.
Over in House District 37 in the Las Cruces area, Democrat Joanne Ferrary and Republican incumbentTerry McMillan have received the exact same number of votes — 6,247 for McMillan and 6,247 for Ferrary.
