LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The number of people taking concealed carry classes has skyrocketed in Kentucky.

State officials say the number of firearm training certificates issued jumped to its highest number in a decade in January.

Just over 4,000 people were issued training certificates in December, compared to more than 12,000 in January.

One Louisville police officer who conducts training courses says gun ranges in Kentucky are packed with students, and says bullets are in short supply.
