Feds find fraud, bad bookkeeping at Milwaukee nonprofit

MADISON — A Milwaukee non-profit community health center supported by federal grants hasn’t been keeping its books properly, according to a report from the Office of Inspector General at the Department of Health and Human Services.
The audit also confirmed that a former employee at Milwaukee Health Services, Inc. had embezzled from the company.

MADISON – With bombings in Boston, a plant explosion in Texas and Gov. Scott Walker on a trade mission to China, most eyes turned to events outside Wisconsin’s borders this week.
“There is no explanation for the kind of evil that seeks to destroy,” Walker said in a statement, following the Boston Marathon bombings that killed three people Monday. “Our hearts go out to the victims of the bombing today in Boston. Tonette and I join our fellow Americans in sending our prayers and deepest sympathies to those injured and the families of those killed.”
