MT jobless rate drops slightly; some counties still hurting

Montana's economy has weathered the recession’s effects slightly better than the rest of the country, with Montana’s unemployment rate reaching its high of 7 percent only six months since January 2009.

HELENA — Montana’s latest job report shows a slight improvement in the Treasure State economy.
The Montana Department of Labor and Industry announced the state’s unemployment rate dropped to 6.1 percent in April from 6.2 percent in March.
