Investigation says NM horse racing tracks among the worst in the nation; causes a stir within the sport

On Sunday (March 25), the New York Times ran a massive, 6,400-word exposé that painted a blistering picture of the US horse racing industry in general and New Mexico tracks in particular, saying that the sport routinely runs horses often drugged to dangerous levels and producing a study in which an overwhelming number of New Mexico tracks make up many of the most deadly in the nation.
